Cates - Funeral services for Mrs. Vivnia Mae Grimes, age 62, who died at 6:25 p.m. Friday, July 2, at her home in Cates, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bodine and Shelby funeral Home in Covington. The Rev. Thomas Stapp officiated and burial was in the Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Mrs. Grimes, who had been in ill health for three months and seriously ill for two weeks, was born Jan 21, 1903, in Millcreek Township, Fountain county, the daughter of Will Mack and Lillie Orahood Allen. She was married Nov 29, 1943 to Arthur A. Grimes, who survives. She was a life resident of the Cates community and had been employed in the shade department at Marshall Studios in Veedersburg for 13 years. She was a member of the Cates EUB Church. Surviving, in addition to the husband, is her father, who is now a patient in the Layman Nursing Home in Clinton. She was preceded in death by her mother. Serving as pallbearers were: Ora Crowder, Chancey Crowder, Ross Ratcliff, Patrick Lindley, Wayne Majors and Leonard Clawson, Jr.
